String Quartet

Resident group of the International Music Festival of Póvoa de Varzim (FIMPV), the Verazin Quartet (QV) was created by the Pro-Music Association of Póvoa de Varzim in 2007. That same year, its first public presentation took place in the 29th edition of the Festival. It has been regularly integrated into its programming ever since. He is already involved in the publication of the extensive repertoire written for string quartet, having already performed in public works by Barber, Beethoven, Borodin, Brahms, Chausson, Debussy, Dvorák, Golijov, Grieg, Joly Braga-Santos, Joseph Haydn, Mendelssohn, Pärt , Prokofiev, Ravel, Schubert, Shostakovich, Viana da Motta and Hugo Wolf.

The QV has benefited from the various chamber music masterclasses promoted by the FIMPV (2007, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017 editions), namely with the string quartets Prazak, Fine Arts, Pavel Haas, Ardeo and Ebène. He worked with Vladimir Mendelssohn and Jacek Klimkiewicz at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, and was also led by Professors Ryszard Wóycicki, Ana Bela Chaves, Radu Ungureanu and Pavel Gomziakov.

In July 2008, António Pinho Vargas Quartet No. 2 - "Movimentos do Subsolo", a work commissioned by the FIMPV and later recorded in October of the same year (the respective CD was released in 2009 by Numérica). Also in world premiere, in July 2009 presented the work "Verazin nº 1" expressly commissioned by the 31st edition of the FIMPV to the composer Carlos Azevedo.

Participated in the Days of Music of 2013 (Centro Cultural de Belém) and in the Weeks of Music 2013 (39th International Music Festival of Estoril). QV is regularly invited to collaborate in the most diverse socio-cultural activities of the municipality of Póvoa de Varzim and the Northern region of Portugal, as well as other Portuguese stages.

He has collaborated with a number of soloists in concert such as pianist Daniel Cunha (July 2011), soprano Raquel Camarinha and pianist Yoan Héreau (July 2017).

In July 2018 he performed again at the International Music Festival of Estoril Lisbon, at the Centro Cultural de Cascais. Also in July 2018 debuted the Quartet nº 4 of António Pinho Vargas (order of the FIMPV), in concert integrated in the commemorations of the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the Festival.

Began her musical studies at the age of eight with Suzanna Lidegran at the Conservatório de Música do Porto.
